Switzerland’s Women’s Olympic Hockey team announced their roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics, and Union College’s own Monja Wagner was one of the names announced on the roster to compete for her country in the Olympics. Wagner is a goaltender from Romanshorn, Switzerland. She is currently in her third year playing on the Union Women’s Hockey team, and has started most of the team’s games this season with a total of 15 games played.
Throughout this season, Wagner has been putting on an exceptional performance for her team with a 3.00 goals against average and a .915 save percentage. In a recent game against Brown University on January 3, 2026, Wagner had a game-high 51 saves. She also has three career shutouts. Additionally, in both of her past seasons, she has been named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team.
Wagner will join fellow NCAA players, including Freshman defensewoman Alessia Baechler from Northeastern University and Freshman forward Naemi Herzig from Holy Cross, and Junior forward Laura Zimmerman from St. Cloud University. Wagner has already represented Switzerland on the World stage at the 2020 U18 Women’s World Championships, and she will now join a talented Swiss team and represent Union on the world stage.
