Fall U is an annual celebration of self-expression, culture, and community that is held in the Henle Dance Pavilion during Fall term at Union. This year, there were three performances: the first on Friday, October 31st, and the two additional ones on Saturday, November 1st. The performances were supported by the Union College Dance program and directed by students Alekhya Buragadda, Hailey Dunn, and Paige Fox. There were a variety of performances that allowed students to celebrate diversity and culture and express themselves.
The performance consisted of seven pieces that allowed students to celebrate their diversity and culture, and express themselves through their moves. The performances in order were KAU crew fall 2025 medley, Moving Towards, Clean Slate, Moves “N” Groves, Lost & Found, Can You Keep Up, and Maar Lalkara. Performers in these pieces ranged from students in dance clubs such as Move ‘N’ Groves, Hiphop, K-pop, and Bhangra Union, to the Union College Dance Team, The Garnettes, as well as dance minors, and each group had their own moments to shine.
Student choreographer Narayani Yogi ’28 from Bhangra Union stated, “I enjoyed being able to come together and do something we all loved.” The performances allowed students to showcase their hard work and skills, as well as celebrate and share their culture with the Union community.
Student Anthony Montás ’26 performed a powerful self-choreographed piece that had everyone mesmerized. The performances demonstrated not just the talent, but also the sense of humor of the students, especially with the appearance of a ghost in the piece by Moves ‘n’ Groves. The Dance Team’s upbeat performance had the crowd cheering and Bangra’s power-packed closing piece had everyone energized and hyped up by the end.
The passion and enthusiasm immersed in the experience could be felt from every corner within the room, with loud cheers and applause echoing throughout the pavilion. There were so many decisive moments that demonstrated the diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging at Union College. As an institute that houses various international students, dance provides these students with an environment to express themselves and their culture in front of a diverse audience, giving them the opportunity to learn more about the world around them. That is the spirit of Fall U.
If you couldn’t make it to this year’s Fall U, be sure to witness the groups at the Winter Dance Concert and the Steinmetz Lothridge Dance Festival in the spring. Student performers are extremely excited about putting up their best work in these performances so don’t miss your chance to experience their energy firsthand.
