This past weekend, members of the Union community, both past and present, joined to celebrate the time-old tradition of ReUnion Weekend. ReUnion 2026, which lasted from Thursday, May 14 to Sunday, May 17. The festivities began with Schaffer Library’s Special Collections and Archives department hosting a Class of 1976 Special Collections Tour.
This ReUnion was especially focused on the Class of 1976, as this weekend marked their 50th ReUnion. The classes of 1981 celebrated their 45th ReUnion, 1986 their 40th, and so on. The weekend also contained various gatherings among Union’s communities, such as academic departments and religious groups. The weekend also featured performances from student groups such as Zakuro-Daiko, Union’s Japanese drumming ensemble.
To conclude the weekend, the yearly tradition of a firework show over the Nott Memorial was held on Saturday night, leading into Sunday’s Community Carnival. Overall, ReUnion 2026 was an opportunity for Union students and alumni to reignite old connections and build new ones.
