A new era of Tyler, the Creator is officially upon us. The new album “CHROMAKOPIA” was released on October 28, 2025.
Tyler, the Creator supplied his fans an album consisting of 14 songs, all equating to 53 minutes of new sounds. Despite the lack of credited features when looking at the album, there were many artists included on the 14 tracks.
The features included Childish Gambino, Schoolboy Q, Teezo Touchdown, Doechii, Daniel Caesar, Lil Wayne, and Sexy Red. The addition of these artists supply both a contrasting and corresponding sounds to Tyler’s specific sound, making a solid new album. Tyler also samples a Zambian musician, Paul Ngoni, on the track “Noid,” exposing listeners to an unfamiliar genre of music.
Tyler’s strength in combining samples and impressive features curated a groundbreaking album. To be honest, I think this album will take time for the public to accept it.
As a Tyler, the Creator fan, I already appreciate the smooth R&B aspects that were on the last studio album, “Call Me When You Get Lost,” as well as the intense rap, similar to the earlier albums, “Cherry Bomb” and “Wolf.”
It may take time for the world to appreciate these new styles of music, yet I have no doubt a handful of these songs will become classics.
Listening for the first time, a few standouts on the album are “Tomorrow,” “St.Chroma,” “Darling, I,” and “Sticky.” These tracks include both chill vibes, along with high energy sounds, giving listeners a variety of moods to choose from.
At the “Chromakopia” listening event in Los Angeles, Tyler mentioned how the album’s themes are linked to wisdom passed down from his mother. Tyler tells the crowd, “I was like ‘Oh sh-t, nobody know anything about me before [I was 17].” His hope for “Chromakopia” is to shine light on aspects of his past life, the advice he grew up with, and the man he’s become today.
All in all, Tyler, the Creator has delivered yet another experimental album that has raised the bar for rap. There is something for each type of Tyler, the Creator fan.
