At the end of each academic term, Union’s Honor Council releases information on honor code cases that came before the committee. The information identifies alleged violations of the college’s honor code but does not include personally identifying information.
Spring Term 2024
A total of 18 cases were resolved over the spring term by the Honor Council in 2024. For the 18 cases, 2 were hearings in which the student was found responsible, and 16 chair-dean reviews (CDRs). CDRs are an option for first-time violations when the student accepts responsibility for the violation.
Of the 18 cases, 15 involved cheating, 5 involved plagiarism, and 3 involved facilitation of academic dishonesty.
There are more charges listed than total cases because in 5 cases, the student was charged with more than one form of academic misconduct.
