Senior Spotlight: Swimmer Andrew Wojtowicz ’19

Andrew Wojtowicz ’19 is currently enjoying his last spring term at Union College.

However, he leaves with quite the academic and athletic accomplishments.

Wojtowicz, or “Wojo” as his friends call him, is a four-year member and current co-team leader of the Union Varsity men’s swimming and diving team.

He is a mechanical engineering major from Hamburg, New York and a graduate of Canisus High School.

In high school, in addition to building a succesful swimming record, he was a standout member of the varsity baseball team.

He is a versatile swimmer, but he specializes in freestyle and butterfly.

During his tenure on the team, he has set numerous personal best times and is a member of the Union swimming “Wall of Fame.”

In regard to his swimming career, Wojo described it as a “rollercoaster.”

He says, “It has certainly had its fair share of ups and downs, but I have been extremly fortunate to be a member of the team and get to know my excellent teammates inside and outside of the pool.”

In addition to being a sucessful collegiate athlete, Wojo is a very active member of the student body.

He is a member of the Sigma Phi Fraternity on Union’s campus.

He has also been active in Student Forum since his freshman year.

He stated his desire to thank those for allowing him to become the athlete and person he is today.

He would like to give a special shoutout to his family members, friends, teammates and fraternity brothers.

In addition, he would also like to thank the coaching staff at Union.
